While thought provoking, Jill Filipovic’s thesis about Trump’s family values, that men– ‘want their wives at home while they celebrate the professional successes of their daughters”- leaves out one person,–Tiffany. There is no word of her in the article. This glaring omission may be related to another thesis that the author might consider– a father’s relationships to his daughters is mediated by his relationship to their mother. Ivanka is Ivana’s daughter whom she seems to resemble in her professional endeavors, . Apparently, in public anyway, Trump and Ivana maintain a civil relationship. This does not appear to be the case with Trump and Marla Maples, Tiffany’s mother. Could it be there is more to Filipovic’s equation than meets the eye?
