Early the other weekday morning my fiancée, Lois, opened the refrigerator and saw my wallet sitting there. As I as getting dressed for work, she approached me with a sad, scared look on her face. “Are you okay, honey?” she asked. I said:” Yeah, why are you looking at me like that?”. Again she asked, “Are you sure you’re all right?”. Annoyed I said:” What are you talking about?” Sheepishly she said;” Well when I opened the refrigerator door, your wallet was there. Did you remember putting it in the fridge?” I laughed and said;” Oh,You think I’m losing it!” I gave her a kiss and said:” I had made myself a sandwich for lunch and didn’t want to forget to take it to work so I put my wallet on top of it because I wouldn’t leave the house without it.” She was relieved but a dark thought crossed my mind. It got me thinking, like others of my generation, about a future time, hopefully many years from now, when the inevitable…….
